The Rogers, AR, practice of Dr. Ettienne Van Zyl is proud to offer patients one-day dental restorations using the revolutionary CEREC machine. CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology to create and mill same day dental crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays. The CEREC machine is incredibly convenient for patients, as they can now have dental restorations created and placed in a single visit. They no longer have to worry about wearing temporary teeth between visits.
The CEREC machine is a CAD/CAM machine. Computer aided design machine that
helps us make veneers and crowns, inlays and onlays, in the office, while
the patient is here. Typically the procedure for doing a crown involved us
reducing the teeth structure, making impression, sending impressions to the
laboratory. They would fabricate the crown. In the meantime the patient was
wearing a plastic temporary. Temporary tooth, while the permanent was being
made. Then the patient would come back. We'd have to numb them again, take
the temporary off, clean the teeth up, and then put the permanent crown.
What we're able to do with the CEREC is pretty amazing. Patients are
typically very impressed to see how the crown is designed, next to the
chair. Then it's milled, and it's glued in the same visit. So it's a win-
win, for the patient and for me. There's no return visit. The patient only
misses one day or one afternoon of work, instead of having to take two off.
They only get one shot. And the best part for me is I never have to come in
to glue a temporary back on over the weekend.
