Shirley has been Dr. van Zyl’s office manager since he started practicing dentistry in 1998. Her friendly disposition will help to ensure that your visit is a pleasant one. She is a native of Memphis and has been married to her husband Don since 1964. They have two grown daughters and three granddaughters. Shirley enjoys taking weekend trips to Pickwick Lake for sunning, boating, and relaxing with family and friends. She is active in her church, where she serves as a deaconess. It is her pleasure to assist patients after their appointments, and always looks forward to patients who are new to the practice.
Shannon is a registered and certified dental assistant who has been assisting chairside for the past ten years. She and her husband live in Olive Branch with their eight-year-old son, Garret. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, quilting, and sunning. Her goal is to make your experience in our dental office as friendly, efficient, and comfortable as possible.
Debi graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. She is a native of Memphis who has been practicing in the area of dental hygiene for more than 30 years, the past seven with Dr. van Zyl. Debi and her husband Joel have three sons; the twins are grown, and the youngest is attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. To relax, she takes pleasure in reading a good book, spending time with her family and friends, and enjoying the music of her husband’s band. Debi has a longstanding reputation for providing gentle, thorough care of the highest standard.
Tammy is the newest addition to our practice. As the front desk coordinator, her smile will be the first to greet you when you enter our office, and her cheery, helpful voice will be on the other end of the phone when you make an appointment. A graduate of White Station High School, she has been married for eight years and has a six-year-old daughter. She enjoys shopping and decorating and is a huge Memphis Tiger fan. Tammy looks forward to scheduling your appointments and assisting you as needed.
