Doctor Ettienne van Zyl received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee Dental School in 1995, graduating as the class valedictorian. After graduation he completed a two-year residency program in Prosthodontics at the VA Medical Center in Memphis.
Doctor Van Zyl has enjoyed all areas of dentistry, not limiting his practice to his area of specialty. He is an ambitious learner, and has continued to improve his knowledge base and clinical skills, which allow him to provide services in all areas of dentistry, including cosmetic smile makeovers, implants, orthodontics, full mouth rehabilitation and TMD/TMJ treatment. The most demanding and intensive training has occurred in Las Vegas, at the Las Vegas Institute for Dental Studies (LVI). Training at this prestigious facility not only focuses on cosmetic dentistry but also the treatment and complete rehabilitation of those suffering from chronic head and neck pain, especially headaches and migraines.
His vast knowledge allows him to provide comprehensive dental care to his patients. Recently he has become one of the first distributors of the PPM Mouth Guard in Tennessee.

Personally he enjoys spending time at his cabin at Pickwick, boating, water-skiing, biking and golfing. He is an active member at Memphis 1st Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Cordova where he teaches one of the bible study classes, is an instructor in the local Pathfinders scouting club, and has served as an elder for more than 10 years.
Doctor Van Zyl married his wife, Shelly, in 1992 and they have two beautiful daughters, Kelsey and Megan.
